V: RADIO – The Vanvitelli University Radio

V: Radio: a new University radio dedicated to students and university life, designed to create a relaxing atmosphere in the students’ recreational area, with amplification systems located in dedicated areas of the departments, with a personalized musical schedule, and, above all, with useful information and directions, communications and live events.

A system aiming to further strengthen the sense of belonging of the university community, going beyond the limits given by the physical distances separating the various departments.

Students can listen to V: Radio in all departments and in particular:

In Capua - in the department of Economics - in the area outside the Aula Magna;

In Santa Maria Capua Vetere - in the departments of Humanities and Cultural Heritage and Law- in the lobby preceding the Students’ Offices;

In Caserta: in Viale Ellittico - in the departments of Psychology and Political Science - in an outdoor space and in the area of the food and beverage dispensers; in Viale Licoln - in the departments of Mathematics and Physics and of Environmental, Biological and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies - in the external area in front of the bouvette; in Contrada San Benedetto - on the premises of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery;

In Aversa - in the School of Polytechnics and of the Basic Sciences - in the cloister of the Department of Architecture in via San Lorenzo and in the space in front of the new aulario of the Department of Engineering in via Roma; in the Aulario of the Department of Engineering in Viale Michelangelo;

1. Premise

Pursuant to articles 13 and 14 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation no. 2016/679 the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli (hereinafter also indicated as "University") provides the requested information regarding the processing of personal data ("Data").

4. Categories of personal data

Among the Data that the University deals with are included personal and contact data.

Closed circuit video surveillance systems, appropriately indicated by signs placed before their range of action, operate in University locations. Therefore, data also include the images displayed and/or recorded via closed circuit video surveillance systems.

5. Purposes of data processing and legal basis

The Data provided may be used for the following purposes:

a.    To perform the obligations related to the position of potential students, participants of the various initiatives, as well as to carry out institutional functions of the University;

b.    For the release and management of credentials, IT resources and online services made available to potential students, participants in initiatives and/or users;

c.    To send formal communications and informative material with automated and non-automated contact methods, for the participation and registration in courses, seminars, orientation events (e.g. Open day, Welcome day) organized by the University and for evaluation of their degree of satisfaction;

d.    To give feedback to information requests;

e.    With specific consent, to send communications and informative material with automated and non-automated contact methods, concerning: registration for events organized by University partners and/or third parties, promotional activities, investigations related to research initiatives;

f.      With specific consent, directly or through third parties to freely use photographs and/or films taken during University events as well those taken during interviews for research, study, communication and promotion of its activities (publications, brochures, posters, commercials, advertising material, etc.);

g.    For security purposes and protection of its heritage.

The legal basis of the processing is constituted:

  1. For the purposes mentioned in a), b), c) and d), from the execution of the contract or from the execution of pre-contractual measures, such as the registration for orientation events;
  2. For the purposes mentioned in e) and f) from the consent;
  3.  For the purposes mentioned in g), from the legitimate interest of the holder.

The provision of data is not mandatory, but any refusal will determine the objective impossibility of following up on requests and/or of allowing participation in courses, seminars, activities and events organized by the University and/or in its cooperation.

On the contrary, refusal to give consent to the processing of data for the purposes mentioned in e) and f) will not allow the University to pursue the specific purposes indicated therein.

6. Treatment methods

Personal data is subject to manual/computerized processing by the University for specific purposes guaranteeing the security and confidentiality of the data in compliance with current regulations.

7. Data retention period

The University will process Data for the time strictly necessary for the pursuit of the aforementioned purposes, without prejudice to any terms of conservation required by law or regulations. Only the images detected by the video surveillance circuits are kept for a period in compliance with current legislation.

8. Categories of subjects to whom Data may be communicated

The Data may be disclosed to:

  • Public and private bodies or competent authorities, to comply with legal obligations or internal regulations of the University and to allow the execution of the service and/or the provision of the requested service;
  • Companies that deal with maintenance services of the video surveillance system, IT resources and online services made available to students and/or users.

The subjects belonging to the categories to which data can be communicated will process them, as appropriate, as Data Processors expressly appointed by the Owner in accordance with the law, or as independent Holders.

10. Rights of the person involved

The person involved has the right to:

  1. Request the Data Controller for access to the Data, for deletion, correction of inaccurate data, integration of incomplete Data, as well as for the limitation of processing in the cases provided for by article 18 of the GDPR;
  2. Oppose, at any time, in whole or in part, the processing of data necessary for the legitimate pursuit of the interest of the Controller;
  3. Receive data in a structured format, in common use and readable by automatic device as well as, if technically feasible, transmit data to another Owner without impediments, if the conditions exist for exercising the portability right pursuant to article 20 of the GDPR;
  4. Revoke the consent given at any time;
  5. Propose a complaint to the competent Supervisory Authority.

Please note that the right of opposition of the interested party for the purposes referred to in letter e) of this disclosure through automated procedures, extends to the traditional ones, in any case the person involved can exercise the right of opposition even partially. Therefore, the person can decide to receive only communications using traditional or automated methods or none of the two.
